Top Ten Article Content Writing Tips For Killer Brand Marketing

Article marketing remains one of the cornerstones of effective personal branding on the internet. Not only are you giving great value, your readers are getting to know you and trust you. Here are my top ten ideas for how to produce article content.

First, let's just summarise about why article marketing is so valuable to your business.

Writing articles on topics that people are looking for is important, so keyword research is a big part of knowing what articles will get the most views and are likely to result in click through on the resource box link to your landing page - your most wanted response.

The content you produce has a cumulative effect.

If someone happens upon one of your articles, they may read your article, find it useful or be interested in you as a marketer. What happens is interesting.

That person may go do a search on your name to see what else you have done. They may stumble upon a different article, one of your videos or your blog posts, and click through somewhere else entirely than the initial encounter.

Reading your article, they may look you up on Twitter or Facebook and other social media and become a follower or a fan, networking with you more directly.

You've still generated a lead, but it may be indirectly from the original article they found you on.

This is the real power of content marketing.

Getting a high volume of good quality content out there on the internet means people will find you and know what you are all about, what you specialise in maybe. It brands you all over the internet.

OK, so now you know that producing one article adds to your arsenal of content out there on the web. How can you produce high quality articles quickly and easily.

Here are my top ten content ideas for article marketing.

1. Create a list article. People like to grab some key facts and guidance quickly, so this gives great value for a first encounter with you. Choose a topic then brainstorm all the tips to do with that topic.

2. Create a 'how to do' article. What topic do you know a lot about or have recently been learning. What would you say to teach others? Again, make sure you match the article title to a good strong keyword. Long tail keyword phrases will be more likely to get you ranked well on the search engines than short competitive keywords (e.g. how to start an online business will be easier to 'win' than online business).

3. Create a 'top 10 mistakes' article. What have you learned along the way about what not to do in your niche expert area? For example, number each point and make sure you leave clear gaps between each point. This way the reader can skim read (which they usually do!) and pick out the bits that speak to them most.

4. Create a 'frequently asked questions' article. When people start in your niche, e.g. online business, cake making, gardening, whatever, what do they usually ask first, and perhaps what should they ask (but maybe don't know to ask).

5. Create a 5 Ways to... article and then create an article elaborating on each of those five ways. So you have six articles from one topic, six variations of your keyword perhaps. Of course, you don't have to limit it to five, it can be 7 Ways or 10 Ways, these are common and attractive numbers to work to. It could be 5 Top Tips or 7 Reasons to or 10 Essential Techniques.

6. Repurpose your content. For example, create a blog post or a video from every article, summarising and pointing to your article. Linking your different content in a kind of wheel is an excellent SEO strategy, so you will rank higher for the particular keyword phrase you have embedded in that article title or blog post.

7. Give your readers a clear 'hook' at the start and a clear 'call to action' early on (since not everyone will read the whole thing) and at the end of the article. Engage with curiosity and keep them reading with useful tips.

8. Don't tell everything in the article, give them a reason to go to your link. Leave your reader wanting more. Reference the link in the resource box and what they will get midway in your article and/or at the end to move them to the next step.

9. Keep your sentences short and snappy. People have low attention levels when reading stuff on the internet. Your paragraphs should flow logically from one point to the next.

10. Stay focused on the exact keyword phrase or topic. Your title should be laser targeted to one thing. Make a plan or outline for what you will cover and give yourself a word limit of say 500-600 words and edit ruthlessly.
